Smoke Detectors

We install new smoke detector systems and provide preventive maintenance to ensure your smoke detectors function correctly.

Smoke detectors are one of the essential safety features in homes today because they protect your family from deadly smoke and carbon monoxide. Every home should have smoke detectors installed as recommended by The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) guidelines.

Where To Install Smoke Detectors?

The NFPA recommends homes should have smoke alarms installed inside every bedroom, outside each sleeping area and on every level of the house, including the basement. And combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors should be installed in homes that use fossil fuels for heating or cooking.

So as an example, a typical two-story, three-bedroom house needs a minimum of five smoke alarms.

The majority of smoke detectors have a lifespan of eight to 10 years and should be replaced to ensure proper functionality.

All smoke detectors installed in homes have a battery backup in case there is a power failure. You should have these smoke detector batteries replaced every year.
